In light of the recent Drake’s revelations, we’ve been having serious discussions about ghostwriting in Hip-Hop and how forgiving we should be about rappers who utilize it. These are very heavy discussions, and for about three minutes I would like you to put them to the side.

While many fans look at rappers who use ghostwriters with a sense of shame, I’ve been blasting a song from the other side of that spectrum; a song displaying unabashed ghostwriting with no f*cks given.

Diddy’s 2006 release, Press Play, featured songs with lyrics written by Pharoahe Monch. And whether it’s because the verse structure required it or because he thought it was best, they also feature Diddy essentially doing a Monch impersonation.

The juxtaposition of hearing such blatant ghostwriting in the face of all the Drake news has provided a few laughs throughout the day, but the song’s not too bad either. While Diddy’s thoughts on ghostwriting are well known, “The Future” displays the famed line in action.
