Looks like the Drake/Diddy beef hasn’t been resolved, according to Joe Budden. Papi dropped “4PM in Calabasas” on Saturday and it appears to be filled with its fair share of Diddy subliminals. “Even had the OGs trying to press me. Ha ha ha ha….” for example. And not just with actual lyrics either because “4PM” also samples Biggie and The Lox’s “You’ll See.”
After hearing the track, Jumpoff Joey took credit for “inspiring” Drake to get back on his rapping ish, writing, “He snapped just now, even if he dissed me and Puff the whole time…He ain’t sound that inspired in a minute (to me).” For those short on memory, Joe was critical of Drake’s recent output. Back in May, he said Canada Dry sounded “real f***ing uninspired” on Views from the 6.
The Mood Muzik rapper also said Diddy has to respond at Drake’s disses because it’s the hip-hop thing to do. “Puff gotta fire back for the culture lol,” the rapper tweeted before adding, “Can’t let a n*gga grab the classic Bad Boy loop, then sing all your hits as he disses u & not fire back lol for HipHop!”
As for Budden replying to whatever diss he thought he heard on “4PM,” don’t get your hopes up. Budden said he has “no moves” and will just be getting “back to the studio to make great music.”
