Diddy remains a music and media mogul, and a fine purveyor of various beverages, including that Aquahydrate thing he co-owns with Mark Wahlberg. Even so, when people think about Diddy, they often still think about the salad days of Bad Boy Records, Diddy’s record label. Well, in the wake of the anniversary of the death of Notorious B.I.G., the most prominent Bad Boy artist, talk of a Bad Boy reunion tour is in the works.
Diddy was on DJ Khaled’s radio program Friday for a show wherein Khaled played a three hour mix of Biggie Smalls songs in honor of the late rapper. Diddy and Khaled discussed several topics related to Notorious B.I.G. and Bad Boy Records, at which point Diddy revealed that he has been planning a Bad Boy reunion tour.
Diddy says that an official, detailed announcement will come next week, but did say that it will commence on May 21, Biggie Smalls’ birthday, with a show at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn. No other dates have currently been announced. “It’s the family reunion tour a.k.a the two-step tour,” said Diddy.
Obviously, since this is being promoted as a reunion tour, you can expect to see other notable Bad Boy artists joining Diddy for the shows. If you have an affinity for ‘90s hip hop, this is probably worth getting at least somewhat excited for, at least once Diddy has given more details.
